47th Anniversary Folk Tour 2003

Vic & Reba's 47th Anniversary Folk Tour 2003 started July 23 with Buddy Mondlock and Lori Kelley performing at Vic's Music Corner.  As soon as the concert was over we drove to Gettysburg in Reba's new gold Subaru Forester. From there we headed for Falcon Ridge, thoroughly enjoying the music and friendship.

Sunday and Monday we spent with Annie Wenz, who threw an informal song circle for us with about 20 friends.

Tuesday night was spent in Williamstown MA with Bernice Lewis

We stayed Wednesday night (the 30th) with Sonny Ochs in Middleburgh NY.  We had a wonderful dinner with Sonny and with Kim and Reggie Harris.

Thursday through Sunday the 3rd we spent with Rachel Bissex in Burlington VT.  Rachel created a fascinating benefit concert for herself and for us  -- 16 acts, mostly Burlington area performers but also including Diane Zeigler from Montpelier VT, Juliet Wyers from Portland Oregon, and the Malvenas (Gina Forsythe, Beth Cahill, and Lisa Markley).

Monday and Tuesday we visited Kate McDonnell and her partner Michael, with Siobhan Quinn joining us Tuesday evening.  We had a fine day at the Albany Museum.

Wednesday to Friday (6-8) were busily spent in New York City,  We saw 5 plays (Hairspray, Take Me Out, Gypsy, Say Goodnight Gracie, and The Producers).  We also took a boat ride around Manhattan, worthwhile even though the sky was overcast and it occasionally rained).  Thank goodness it wasn't a week later -- we stayed on the 19th floor of the Marriott Marquee.

Saturday and early Sunday  we spent with Rick and Maria in Stony Brook Long Island

Sunday night we were home 1600 miles later.
